🎉 Congratulations to Kai on being named our 2026 Teal Cup - Titan of the Year at Presentation Day! 🏆

Kai, we are proud of you and everything you bring to our club. Thank you for being such an incredible Titan and a wonderful role model for everyone around you.

Congratulations on this well deserved award.

Here's Kai's nomination: Maya, Xavier and I would like to nominate Kai Saunders for Titan of the year.

We have had the privilege of having him in our team for the past four years and he has grown tremendously.

In line with the criteria, please see below:

Teamwork – Over the last two years, with a number of younger children joining our team, Kai has become a leader for our team. He will see kids that aren’t getting as involved and say “What about Olly…What about Huddy…..or lets get Micah to score next” and then get involved in the play to help pass the ball off to them.

Initiative – Kai has even been goalkeeper on a number of occasions this year, simply so other kids could get out and score a goal he says. He even stays in line with our defence and lets the opposition teams go for runs down the side so they can have fun too.

Together – Kai is one of the first to arrive and last to leave the field. Making sure he gets a fair few handshakes along the way.

Attitude –Kai loves the game, he gets as much excitement when others score as when he does. He will help in defence, congratulate others when they do a good tackle or pass and most importantly, plays in a fair and safe manner. Kai is a gentle giant of our team.

No Boundaries – Kai epitomises Titans football. He always plays fair, always has a smile, always runs around and has fun. We have a few “very keen” players on our team who score a lot more goals than him….however, Kai helps to make to sure that everyone has a turn, even the opposition, making sure everyone has a wonderful Saturday each week.

Thanks again for the privilege of coaching Kai and his fellow Titans,

Josh Michel 😊

Teal Cup history….

Sutherland Titans FC was formed in 2005, by then Gymea United FC President Stuart Teal (pictured behind Chloe) & his daughter Bree Teal. Games were initially played at Gymea Bay Oval 2 on Saturday afternoons. Stewart Teal who became the first Titans President, and his daughter Bree, spent many hours on and off the field to ensure that these games took place.

To celebrate Gymea United FC’s 60th anniversary in 2019, and the history the club has with Titans, GUFC approached the Titans executive and it was decided GUFC would sponsor a Titan of the Year Award with a trophy to be named the 'Teal Cup' and a small gift.
